Understanding Your Vision
What should I wear? We recommend comfortable clothing that you can move easily in. For specific themed shoots (like Western or fantasy), we can provide guidance on appropriate attire or discuss costume options. Consider bringing layers and multiple outfits for variety. We can also consult on colors that will photograph well with your horse and the setting.
Can I bring props or specific items? Absolutely! We encourage you to bring any props or sentimental items that will personalize your session and tell your unique story. Please discuss these with us during your consultation so we can plan how to best incorporate them.
Can family members or friends be in the photos? Yes, absolutely! Our sessions are about capturing your bond, which often includes loved ones. Please let us know in advance who will be participating so we can plan accordingly.
What if the weather is bad on our session day? We closely monitor weather forecasts. If adverse weather (heavy rain, strong winds, extreme heat) is predicted, we will gladly reschedule your session for another mutually convenient date. Your and our horse's safety and comfort are our top priorities.
Are you licensed and insured? Yes, we are a fully licensed and insured "bonafide business," ensuring peace of mind for all our clients.
Do you offer makeup / hair? At this time we do not offer makeup nor hair styling services.
What kind of photoshoots do you offer? We specialize in capturing the unique concept of our client, offering everything from whimsical unicorn encounters and enchanting fairytale sessions to dramatic Western-themed shoots and elegant equestrian portraits. We also welcome unique concepts like celebrating heritage or family history. Use our in house photographer or your own.
Are there concepts that are not allowed? To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all our clients and our horses, we do not allow the portrayal of the following concepts on our property or in our photoshoots: gore, blood, torture, bondage nudity, horror and the like. We are dedicated to creating beautiful, respectful, and positive imagery that celebrates humans and horses.
Where do photoshoots take place? Our primary location is “Old Oaks Farm” our beautiful, conveniently located property in Odessa, Florida, just a few miles from SR54 and the Suncoast Expressway (and only 22 minutes from Tampa International Airport!). We also have access to several other fabulous nearby locations that offer diverse backdrops for your vision.
How long does a session typically last? Session lengths vary depending on the package you choose, typically ranging from 45 minutes to 2 hours to allow ample time for changing outfits, changing the gear on the horse, and capturing a variety of shots without rushing.
Do you provide the horses, or do I bring my own? We provide our gentle, experienced horses (Buddy and Wimpy), perfect for our Unicorn Discovery, Western, or Fantasy shoots. We also absolutely love working with your horse offsite if you prefer!
Who is "Cheri" mentioned on your site? Cheri is my dear friend and an integral part of our team! She brings over 50 years of invaluable experience in naturally training, starting, and loving horses, ensuring every session runs smoothly and safely.
My dream shoot is really unique. Can you help? Absolutely! We thrive on bringing unique concepts to life. Whether it's tied to your heritage, a fantastical idea, or a specific historical period, we'd love to hear your vision and work together to make it a stunning reality.
