The journey….

In 2002, I traded city life in Tampa for the wide-open spaces of Odessa, a move driven by my passion for horses. Boarding them at a facility felt temporary; I knew that by combining my board payment with a mortgage, I could finally have land of my own. So I settled on a fixer-upper, a place with undeniable potential despite its initial appearance. (And yes, it was ugly!)

The location has proven to be everything I hoped for: perfectly situated just a couple of miles from SR54 and the Suncoast Expressway 589, and a quick 22-minute drive to Tampa International Airport. I’ve spent years pouring my heart into this property, turning it into our sanctuary. And after all that, I can't imagine ever moving.

Riding isn't my profession; it's a deep-seated passion, a love for these incredible animals, and a pure joy to spend time with them. We regularly explore the local trails, often with a dear friend who brings over 50 years of experience in naturally training, starting, and loving horses. Now, both retired from traditional employment, we truly "do what we want," living a life built around our greatest loves.

 How “The Horse and Lens” began…

One evening, after a relaxing trail ride at a local park, we stumbled upon a couple's sunset photoshoot. On a whim, I offered them a quick photo opportunity with Buddy, and their appreciation was immediate and heartwarming. Even their photographer was impressed, exclaiming, "This horse is posing! What a ham!"

That chance encounter felt like a nudge from the universe. Soon, more photoshoot requests came our way, and now, what started as a spontaneous offer has blossomed into a licensed and insured, bonafide business. My horses, who'd been "freeloading" their whole lives, finally have jobs and earn their keep! My friend Cheri and I couldn't be happier; we get to work every day alongside our best friends.

This venture is a perfect culmination of my life's journey. With a degree in fashion design, years spent as an artist, and now the perfect pairing of our quiet, experienced horses and our conveniently located Odessa property, it feels like destiny. We also have access to several other stunning locations nearby, ensuring we can bring any vision to life.
